Product Description
In this first part of a three part story, Holmes and Watson are introduced to an impossible crime; a killing by a mythological creature; the dreaded Chimera, part lion, part scorpion, part goat! But even if the death is some sort of sick hoax, it still means a hideous murder has taken place, which Holmes must solve. However dark forces swirl about the case, and an unsuspecting Holmes, besieged by doubts, has yet to contend directly with the most dramatic of those forces: Professor James Moriarty!

Eagerly anticipation...Hooray!!

Ever since I heard of this new Sherlock Holmes comic series, I have been eagerly waiting to get my hands on this since before the summer of 2009. Especially since the artwork and story was being done by Phil Cornell and Christopher Sequeira (I came across their work from the Gaslight Grimoire book from EDGE), and thanks to BlackBoox I have finally received my copies of the first three issues plus the preview issue(it should be noted I reside in the UK so I cannot pop into my local retailer).
Firstly the the covers by Dave Elsey is excellent, very gothic and a very dark imagesetting for Victorian England (these would make great framed posters to adorn the wall). Cornell's Holmes and Watson are fantastic, especially the image of Moriarty a very sinster appearance compared to the original story description.
The story itself is enjoy to read, although it seems to have supernatural element, it is still grounded in a very well-written and believable story.
Overall an excellent start to series and personally a long overdue for decent Sherlock Holmes comic series. Highly recommended.
Keep up with the excellent work and looking forward to the upcoming issues.
